Forensic anthropology is now considered an instrument that supports the justice system and humanitarian forensic action. It contributes with its specialized knowledge to different stages procedures of judicial investigation, work. One specific contributions laboratory analysis, where anthropologist, through his scientific (e.g., human osteology) identification determination manner cause death. However, in Colombia, work anthropologist falls within framework medical-legal autopsy even immersed it, so scope objectives tend be invisible field inquest into deaths. This article reflects on relationship between forensic-medical-legal autopsy. begins assessment current context search for missing persons, then determines how anthropological are linked legal and, finally, presents a discussion theory practice analysis. therefore challenges facing discipline, such as consolidation theoretical-scientific foundation updating standards and/or which necropsy merge.
